Tara Brown has been managing and developing software since 1995. At Yaletown Technology she designed, built, and managed Group Health Cooperative's first Intranet. At BCAA she designed and built out an Intranet for their 24 service centers in addition to project managing one of the first web based auto insurance quoting systems.
For her 8 year tenure at Microsoft as a Senior Lead Program Manager, Tara worked on various software projects including Windows Live Calendar, Address Book, and Microsoft Office Outlook Connector (where she started working remotely with teams in Hyderabad, India). She moved over to a new team Office Live, to bring Office to the web and worked on Microsoft Office Live for Small Business and Microsoft Office Live Workspace focusing on a new concept - Social Productivity.
Wanting to work at a start up in the entertainment industry, for the past year Tara has been working as a Program Manager for Topspin, a technology platform for direct-to-fan, marketing, management and distribution. She specs and manages features and works with musicians to implement campaigns using Topspin technology.
In her spare time, Tara creates and produces projects like Cat Workout, and iPhun, a video review show and blog dedicated to the iPhone gamer.
For the past two months I have lived in Paris with my husband and 5 month old. I have gone out every single day to enjoy this beautiful city and not surprisingly, my kid gets hungry. I am exclusively breastfeeding and this means that I have to feed Ripley out in the wilds of Paris. [...]

I have a Kodak Zi6 Video Camera. It takes pretty decent video but has two annoying quirks: 1) the batteries don’t last very long and 2) the SD card is always having issues. 1) Battery Life - apparently you can extend battery life if you limit your recordings to under 10 minutes - don’t playback [...]
