I’ve been a new Mom for almost 6 weeks now and I’m really loving it. Since before Ripley was born I have been contemplating whether I wanted to go back to work full-time or find a way to look after him full-time and figure out some way to pay the bills. With 6 weeks to go before I was supposed to show up for work at Topspin, my decision was made for me. I’m not going to get into the details as I have mad respect for Topspin, but needless to say, I’m not returning. It really is a good thing because as you may have read in a past blog post, it’s a damn miracle that Ripley even exists, so the idea of having someone else raise my kid doesn’t appeal to me. I’ve also been considering going out on my own either through consulting again or starting my own business.
OK, so that’s all fine and dandy, but what should I do? I don’t know and that’s where you all come in. I need help figuring it out. I have had a lofty career as a Software Program Manager and Web Producer and I dabble in lots and lots of hobbies, but too many things get me excited and I can never settle and focus on just one or two. I hope that by giving some information about me to you that we can brainstorm together and point me in some direction. I’m also going to try completing some exercises like the Dreamline in 4 Hour Work Week and What Color is Your Parachute.
